Tamiya LOTUS EUROPA SPECIAL Skala 1/24 Byggmodell

This is a welcome first re-issue in ten years for our model of the Lotus Europa Special (previously Item 24212), with a number of updates to the kit.

The Europa is a lightweight masterpiece of a sports car packed with features more likely seen on a racing car in its era: a sleek, low body, midship mounted engine and FRP frame components. Europas were manufactured between 1966 and 1972, and the Special was the final version of the car.

It had a “big valve” 126hp 1,558cc four cylinder engine, five-speed transmission and alloy wheels.

About the Model
• This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit. Length: 168mm, width: 73mm.
• The honed Europa design and low body are authentically captured in 1/24 scale.
• With the removal of the hood, the engine can be viewed even after completion. It features twin carburetor, 5-speed transmission, and shift linkage in the rear, plus new air funnels.
• New parts are included for a rear wing and RS Watanabe option wheels.
• Y-shaped backbone frame is molded together with rear radius arms as one piece. Front double wishbone suspension, stabilizer, rear upright, and engine are all attached onto this frame.

Another champion joins the legendary Tamiya 1/24 Sports Car Series: the LEON CVSTOS AMG secured an astonishing come-from-behind GT300 class championship in the Japanese 2018 Super GT Series, thanks to a stunning victory and slips by their rivals in the season finale at the Twin Ring Motegi. The LEON Racing team has run the AMG GT3 since 2016, and in 2018 the car was sponsored by watchmaker CVSTOS, with an understated black and white livery. Mercedes’ GT3 class car is powered by a monster 6.3-liter V8, and features a graceful, elegant body that utilizes carbon fiber extensively, constructed around an aluminum space frame.

The original Lancia Stratos Turbo model (Item 24003) is a classic model kit that was first released back in 1977. This is a special edition re-issue model with a stylish metal-plated finish!
The Stratos was developed through the early 1970s and went on to appear in WRC races, taking a magnificent hat-trick of manufacturer titles between 1974 and 1976. Lancia later developed the car further for Group 5 circuit racing, with a revamped body and turbocharged engine: it is this car that is recreated by this kit.

TOYODA MODEL AA Tamiya Skala 1:24

Toyota has become a major player in the global auto industry, but like other manufactures it had humble beginnings. Tamiya recreates Toyota’s first “production” car known as the Model AA, which was built by the automobile section of the Toyoda Automatic Loom Works company. The Model AA was their first production car, released in 1936 and as it was still an internal department of Toyoda, this car bears the unfamiliar “–da” ending to the brand name (in 1937 the automobile division became an individual entity and changed to the Toyota name still used today). The Model AA was sold as a domestically designed and produced competitor to U.S.-made cars, its stylish and flowing body mounted on a ladder frame and the whole package powered by a 3.4-liter inline-6 engine. Around 1,400 AAs rolled out of the factory over its 6 years of production, an important first step in the making of the Toyota brand.

TAMIYA 1/24 PORSCHE BOXSTER SPECIAL EDITION Byggmodell

The Porsche Boxter, with its horizontally placed 6-cylinder engine and rear wheel drive attracted fans around the globe with its unique style. Owners were always tempted to build upon this uniqueness by adding option parts not only for performance enhancement, but also for style. Customization known as "Porsche Tequipment" became popular for provinding option parts for Porsches and other cars to dealers. Eventually, Porsche produced a splendid array of its own option parts and ventured into a program known as "Porsche Exclusive" that enabled Porsche owners to receive close support on customizing their cars. In addition to body material and color selection some of the options included lowering clearance for better handling, adding a larger stabilizer, and attaching reinforced shock absorbers. Option packages such as a sports chassis package and automated control system (PSM) for increased stability were also available for owners to create their very own one-of-a-kind
Porsche. When the Porsche Boxster made its debut in 1996, it too became a popular model to customize. The Boxster's affinity for customization became particularly apparent during the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show, when crowds gathered around a yellow, customized Boxster that featured two bumps on the rear section and was specially designed under the "Porsche Exclusive" program. With its body, as well mesh wheels and roll bars all painted bright "speed yellow", the car displayed as "Porshce Boxster special edition" drew considerable attention with it speedy and original style.

The Porsche Turbo RSR was developed to race in the revamped racing Group 4, which started in 1976. Based on the 930 Turbo and competing in the aforementioned Group 4, the car was christened the 934 Turbo. It had a 2993cc engine capable of a maximum output of 485hp and torque of up to 62kg/m. One of the 50 that were produced up to May 1977, the Max Moritz Team car was sponsored by the German liqueur maker Jägermeister and bore the famous orange livery associated with the brand.

This famous racing car makes its way into the Tamiya 1/24 Scale Sports Car line up, having also appeared in the 1/12 Big Scale Series back in 1976. With the attention detail one comes to expect from Tamiya models, this model faithfully replicates the car's flared fenders and large rear wing, the interior with roll-cage, and even the underside of the chassis. The metal-plated wheels are fitted with rubber slick tires, and the front bumper and engine hood mesh are recreated using photo-etched parts while metal transfers are used for the cars mirrors. It all adds up to a very precise model!

TAMIYA 1/24 FERRARI 360 SPIDER

Unveiled at the 2000 Geneva Motor Show, the F360 was the successor to the F355 and made waves with its body styling, which featured smooth, flowing lines rather than the angular design of the F355. Though the 3.6 liter V8 engine was only slightly more powerful, the new aluminum frame weighed less and featured increased stiffness, which resulted in improved performance numbers. The Spider was a convertible version that came with an electronically operated roof.

The racing inspired V10 power plant which replaces Porsche"s traditional horizontal 6-cylinder engine has been reproduced in meticulous detail and accuracy. All other distinctive aspects of the drive train have been carefully replicated down to an exquisite 1/24 scale including the horizontal transmission, air intake, exhaust system and push rod type rear suspension.

The overall shape and body design has been so accurately reproduced that looking at each curve and groove you can"t help but feel you"re looking at the real thing. The latest star to appear in the 1/24 scale Sports Car Series is the Mercedes-AMG GT3, the GT3 class spec customer sports car converted from the AMG GT road car by the Mercedes-AMG high performance division.

It is an awesome prospect, with a reliable and powerful 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine harnessing 558hp (this with a 36mm air restrictor!). Its carbon fiber body overhauls the road car base and has a prominent grille inspired by the classic 300 SL, with racing essentials such as a large rear wing, air intakes, splitter, canards and diffusers contributing to superlative aerodynamics.

Delivery of the car began in 2016, with teams worldwide receiving the AMG GT3, and it has provided top-class results such as 2016 Blancpain GT Series driver and constructor championships, plus a sweep of the top four places in the 2016 running of the 24 Hours Nürburgring.

The 1965 Mexican Grand Prix was not just the last race of the season, but also the last Formula-One race using normally aspirated 1.5 liter displacement engines. The car that won this memorable even was Honda's highly competitive RA272 racing machine, driven by the skilled driver Richie Ginther. Honda was the first Japanese car manufacturer to participate in F-1 Grand Prix racing, and this was their first F-1 victory since entering the 1964 German Grand Prix. Honda competed in the 1964 season using their RA271 machine, piloted by the young American driver Ronnie Bucknum. Although the RA271 occassionally showed a glimpse of its hidden potential, it failed to record any remarkable results. A discouraging season lead Honda to develop a much more integrated F-1 racing machine. Following the 1964 season, Honda thoroughly improved the machine and redesignated it the RA272. Its high tech and powerful, transversely mounted V-12 cylinder engine was said to yield an amazing 220 plus horsepower. Richie Ginther joined the team beginning the season, and his racing experience helped the team in further refining the RA272. He gained 6th place in the Belgian and Dutch GP's, and finally won the Mexican victory on October 24th 1965. Taking the lead just after the start, Ginther's RA272 recorded a perfect win, without yielding the top position throughout the race. Partner Bucknum also earned 5th place, adding to Honda's racing laurels.
